How to Innovate

If It’s Lonely at the Top – Find the Right Peer Advisory Group

The past few years have been rocky for businesses.  Navigating the pandemic and the ensuing economic upheaval, you’ve probably faced critical decisions relating to managing staff, service relationships, supply chain issues and more. On your own.

You desperately wanted sage advice while pondering tough choices that you just couldn’t discuss with anyone on your team.

If this is you, here’s something for you to consider…

What if you could connect regularly with a group of entrepreneurs from non-competing businesses at different stages of development?  Other business owners trying to build successful organizations who also want to discuss challenges they are facing?

Sara Clarkson is relieved she encountered such a group:

“I was looking for a peer group as I had just recently acquired my company, and being a sole owner, it is hard to find people to discuss the ins and outs of the business. I joined Innovators in early 2019 and really did feel like I found my “people.” Suddenly I had a network of entrepreneurs who were at all different stages of their business. The opportunity for us to review our successes, share our challenges and work together to help support each other was priceless for myself and my company. The experience we are able to provide one another is such a huge asset, and the fact that it provides me time every month to step outside my business and work “on it” instead of “in it” with others, has been a huge opportunity for growth for both myself, my team and my business!”

Innovators Alliance (IA) member Steve McGowan is also grateful for the support, guidance and experience he found at IA that helped him weather a severe economic downturn. He appreciated knowing that others had gone through similar trying times.

When your business is struggling, having a peer support group can be invaluable to help you develop best practices, gain new business perspectives and receive guidance on business strategies.

Listen to how Steve weighs the investment in his membership:

How Innovators Alliance works:

Innovators Alliance connects entrepreneurs and innovators. As a member, you’ll be invited to local chapter meetings and confidential roundtable discussions 10 times a year hosted by a professional chapter chairperson. You will also have regular virtual access to subject matter experts through our “Innovators Chats”.

Additionally, there are 2 “power meetings” each year (full-day conferences with workshops, breakouts and keynote speakers).

In addition to this meeting support, you’ll also have access to our members-only portal where you’ll find tools and resources, including our proprietary Innovators Dashboard, to grow your business and increase its profitability.

Feedback from Innovators Alliance members reveals the benefits they value:

  • Opportunity to continuously learn and improve in a confidential setting
  • Honest advice and feedback from peers that have no conflict of interest
  • Exposure to innovation and new ways of doing things
  • Improved growth and profitability of their organization

“Every company faces new challenges as they get bigger and it’s so nice to be able to talk to a bigger company than you to find out how to handle the next problem you’re going to face…. Innovators Alliance is just as helpful for growth as it is for handling downturns. … Having those friendly faces around the table, helping guide you in dealing with these problems is invaluable.”

Steve McGowan, Matias

If you’ve ever wanted to reach out and discuss your business challenges with other like-minded entrepreneurs, consider attending an Innovators Alliance event to explore a fit for you and your business. You’ll meet other business innovators, share knowledge about handling business challenges, and discuss solutions in an atmosphere of confidentiality, respect and mutual support.
